Make Me Care: The Art of Clarity and Concept In Your Photography.

Why is it that you can take two photos of the exact same subject with the same equipment and identical settings, but yet one may be inherently more engaging than the next? The answer is context. Creating context and point-of-view within a photo can be a difficult challenge, but it can also be the thing that makes or breaks your shot. This can be interpreted and defined in different ways, but at the end of the day, if you don't take some type of emotional stand when creating

For those of you who may have received a pinhole camera from me at Burning Man, and were not able to return the roll to golden cafe, I would love to hear how your experience went. Thinking Composition Part 2: Path of Action, Spacial Relationships, and Directionality

When the human eye views a photo, or anything for that matter, it always tries to follow the simplest path of action that it can. Our brains are constantly forming and compartmentalizing spacial relationships between objects, shapes, lines, and (more abstractly) ideas. Path of Action: When a photo has a smooth compositional path of action to follow, it allows for the eye to continue cycling around that path with minimal fatigue. In the example below, you'll notice that there

    Rise and Shine.

I've been very busy lately working on some top secret stuff. That being said, I find that the busier I am at work, the more inspired I am at home. Naturally, instead of resting during the few free hours a week that I DO have, I've been spending that time playing music, taking photos, and hangin' with the hooligans. Anyway, I felt it was time to port over to a nicer, newer blog.... so I ask you to raise a paper cup with me and toast to the finer things in life. #WeOutHere #pho
